Colleen Daviton-Burland, who will take on one of the board roles for DEAR (Deaf Elders Around Rochester) in 2017, brought Deaf Senior Citizens to the Dyer Arts Center on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Tabitha gave them a tour and discussed about Deaf artists’ works in The First 200 Years: A Celebration of ASL exhibit.
Approximately 10 senior citizens attended were eager to learn about the Dyer Arts Center and the works of Deaf artists. They asked Tabitha a bunch of questions and provided their own interpretations of art pieces from the exhibit. The Dyer Arts Center is looking forward to more field trips like this in 2017!
